And she'll cry if she wants to. Luckily enough for the blonde, she wasn't going to. She'd been 17 for two days now and it was finally the day for her party. Her friends had attempted to plan a surprise party but she had found out and well...she let them plan a party anyways. Parker was an adult. The party wasn't totally formal, but the blonde wore a dress anyways. The short blue dress speghetti strap was tied with a white sash around the waist to fit her athletic form. [similar to the one up in the picture on the banner...but different sleeves]. Her hair, newly cropped, was in its normal face-framing curls. She wanted to get there before anyone else invited did. Her breath was actually taken by what her friends had put together. Totally her style, the floor was ready to dance, and the Great Hall had a sort of London underground punk club feel to it. It was amazing.
Three days ago, the day before her birthday, something happened that made her mind spin. She hadn't told her friends about the situation with Sirius, it was a little too much. She wanted him to fight for her. To prove that he wanted to be with her. She couldn't easily trust him, or anyone for that matter, so it made things much more difficult for her to love someone. That took courage, what she was doing...being 'non-exclusive' that was cowardly, she knew that...but she couldn't help it. If there was one thing that she was scared of it was being in love. She wanted to grow up, to be better than she is...but it was so hard. She didn't want to get hurt...but Sirius, she didn't want to get hurt, but she didn't want to do the hurting either. It was a weird, bittersweet feeling. But she really felt like she could fall in love with him. The way he made her laugh, the way he made her melt...there was passion between them, she knew that...but there was a lot for them to work through. Maybe friends with benefits wasn't such a good idea. Maybe she was completely wrong.
Either way, this party was going to be an interesting one. She wondered who else was invited, other than the obvious candidates. Even if was just her best friends, she would probably have more fun. She noticed a stage up by where the teachers table usually was, she would have to thank Professor Dumbledore for letting them throw this party for her. Seventeen was a huge number, there was so much she could do now, and so much she had to think about. She missed being around her friends, which this year, she'd been so swamped that she didn't have the time. She was by herself, people weren't due to be ready for another fifteen minutes. Did she have time? Just one song...that was all she wanted to do. Maybe even later she would preform...? Yeah, that probably wouldn't happen. But, as she approached the stage she figured that they expected her to or were going to push her to because there on the stage was her guitar. Just perfect. Maybe just one, she hadn't even shown the one she wanted to sing to anyone, hell, she hadn't even really worked it out yet...but she would. How about right now? Right now was good...
She walked onto the stage, looking out to the empty room, damn it was a big room. She marveled inwardly at it, picked up her guitar and began to tune it. She wasn't even sure if the music would sound good with the lyrics she wrote. But she'd try it at least, what did she have to loose right? She could only pray no one entered while she tried it out. Maybe she would just try to chorus...or you know...whatever worked.
"I’ve been behind on the events of the past 7 days I’ve been sleeping in my bed And missing you like sometimes crazy girls do
I’ve been hanging like a child onto this photograph of us It was taken on a bus across town the last time I saw you
And now this whole world is going ‘round But it’s when you’re gone it really brings me down, down
Well I can’t get my self together I’m soaking in the pain It’s ridiculous how easy it is to go astray When my focus ain’t right Sometimes crazy’s all right
And now this whole world is going ‘round But it’s when you’re gone it really brings me down, oh
Oh, will you wait till I get back home again ‘Cause I’m willing to give this another chance Only you baby keep me up at night Sometimes crazy’s all right
Well I never thought I’d say I was in love with you again It’s funny how my life has come around to this And I’m crazy for you I do like crazy girls do
And now this whole world is going ‘round But it’s when you’re gone it really brings me down…
Oh, will you wait till I get back home again ‘Cause I’m willing to give this another chance Only you baby keep me up at night Sometimes crazy’s all right, crazy’s all right
Oh, will you wait till I get back home again ‘Cause I’m willing to give this another chance Only you baby keep me up at night Sometimes
Oh, will you wait till I get back home again ‘Cause I’m willing to give this another chance Only you baby keep me up at night Sometimes crazy’s all right"
As she finished the song, she noticed a very familiar person standing at the back of the room and she smiled at them, stepping down and walking over to them. As she approached, she smirked as she spoke. "What'd ya think? Its my newest." Her trademark grin became apparent and her voice had a bit of a rasp from singing.

Why was it everytime Kara tried to be a good girl and plan something, she ran late? And when she didn't plan, she was early? Up in her dormitory, she finally came out of hiding as Parker left, and rushed to find an outfit. Bloody hell, she couldn't find any of her outfits, besides an off-shoulder dress Parker had given to her as a joke, saying it would 'attract the guys to you despite the dungbombs!' Kara had laughed and tossed it in her trunk. Neatly, of course. And now, she couldn't find anything else! Who's bloody idea was this?! When she found out who had swiped all of her jeans, she'd give them a piece of her mind...
But what you had to take what you had. With an expression like she was dying, she shrugged into the black dress. The top was rather loose, and the neckline lower then what she liked. It tightened at the waist then flared out with a slit mid-thigh, and ended just below her knees. No offense to Parker, but she felt like a slut in this thing. She preferred tank tops, open-blouses and jeans or parachute pants. Not dresses. She looked around for a brush, and snatched Parker's, running it through her dark brown, spikey hair, pulling her bangs forward to give her a bit of a 'mysterious' air. If she had to wear the dress, she was going to add her own qualities to it. Little leaf-shaped, gold earrings adorned her ears, and whenever she moved her head, they made a small chiming sound. Her fox pendant was out in the open today, and thankfully, only James knew what it meant. Hopefully he wouldn't try anything funny at Parker's party.
She finished the outfit with black ankle boots and looked wildly around for her gift. After digging through her trunk, she found the hastedly-wrapped parcel. It wasn't much, but inside were some assortments. A special, near-top of the line guitar-care set, she knew how much Parker loved her guitar. Which is why they were going to try to shove her on stage to play. With luck, she wouldn't make too much of a fuss. And of course, chocolates in the package. She gave a slight smirk at that, every girl needed chocolate. Especially on her 17th. And to top things off, a fake dungbomb. It was about time that Parker got into more pranking, or fake pranking. She needed a break from schoolwork and all that bloody stuff!
Without even thinking, Kara threw herself out of the dormitory and thundered down the stairs, passing a few third years who stared at her blankly. Probably because they didn't recognize her. A quick thought caused her to grab her dark-green longcoat and throw it over her dress. Let her surprise Parker. She may hate dresses, and would rather Parker not see it, but Parker deserved to give her a few jibes. She somehow managed to get the coat on without dropping the package, or tripping. With a clicking sound from her heels, she raced down the halls, hoping she wasn't late.
A quick jump propelled her onto a banister, and she slid in style down a winding set of stairs. Why there were so many stairs in this place to begin with was one question that would never be answered. Stairs that led to nowhere, stairs that lead to everywhere, stairs that only appeared on a full moon...The place was looney. Everyone here was looney. But that's why she loved it. She pushed herself off the banister before she hit the post at the end and ran to the Great Hall.
Skidding to a halt, she paused to catch herself, and run her fingers through her hair to straighten it out so it wasn't so wild. True, it was always wild, but she did manage to tame it a bit. Taking a deep breathe, she entered the hall just as Parker started in on her song. Before she was noticed, she slid against the wall, listening to Parker's majestic voice, accompanied by the lazy yet energizing tone of her guitar, float through the hall. So Parker had gotten here before her. damn. Kara made a quick face then listened to the lyrics. Unless she was just trying to be melodramatic, like always- she would kill Kara if she heard that! -or she was seriously thinking about something. Rather, someone. Kara became lost in thought as she listened to the notes.
She jolted out of the state of daydreaming as Parker noticed her. She recovered quickly. "What do I think? I think you could so put all of those so-called 'singing wonders' to shame!" She gave a huge grin, honest in every way. "Though you're going to lose your voice, screeching like that, you boy-crazy wonder!" Alright, she was so going to get a smack for that. But the expression on her face told her best friend that she was just joking. She crossed over to Parker and embraced her then shoved the lumpy package into Parker's arms. "Happy birthday, ya brat. Hopefully now that you're an adult in the Wizarding world, you'll be more responsible!" She was still grinning and took the moment to look around.
Parker and her were the first there. Surprising, Remus hadn't arrived yet. As always, the thought of her boyfriend caused her heart to do jumping jacks. She hoped he arrived soon, she so wanted to see his eyes bug out at the sight of her in a dress. In fact, that reminded her... Ever so casually, like it was an everyday thing, she shrugged out of her coat and placed it on a chair, baring herself in a dress for all the world to see. Still casually, she glanced at Parker for her expression, for she should recognize this dress. After all, she gave it to her as a gift! This would be one hell of a reaction, and Kara wished she had a camera with her. Maybe she could recollect it later. For now, it was party time!

Parties were odd things for Tay. She wasn’t that one who stood in the corner, and didn’t dance. She loved to dance. But often she would catch sight of her friends dancing and become self-conscious. Did she look as good as them, dancing? Was her outfit as nice as that one? Her hair as curled or straight as hers? She knew none of this mattered. It wasn’t that Tay was vain or even usually conscious of her looks. But on the dance floor, with everyone around she sometimes felt the little creeping feeling coming over her. Taylor loved to get ready and dressed up- she knew she wasn’t ugly. Or beautiful for that matter. But she loved to dab on some make-up here and there, wear her favourite dress or skirt and try on new clothes.
For Parker’s seventeenth she felt happy. Among her friends she would be care-free mostly and could dance in a relaxed way easily. She had spent ages choosing an outfit and it did actually look good. Tay had chosen from a simple clothes shop some gorgeous plain white fabric dress. It had a cute ending just above her knee with a long cut in the skirt. It was simple- the neck was a simple U-cut. The sleeves ‘poofy’ but not too. It wasn’t expensive, that was the important thing. Taylor’s family didn’t really have the biggest fortune buried away in the Muggle banks. Tay didn’t mind- she improvised. On her white dress she cast some creative, complicated spells she had designed for her charms exam long ago. On the U-neck she made it appear as if seven gorgeous diamond images had settled themselves into the material. Those sparkling but able to disappear at the flick of Tay’s wand, she cast a second charm. The waist of her dress began to become embroidered in cute blue and purple stitching, waving and weaving until the word ‘Tay’ was shown clearly in fancy writing. As an after-thought, Taylor flicked her wand and the stitching set added two tiny butterflies on the ‘Y’ of her nickname. The butterflies flitted around on the material, flying slowly beneath and over the letters. The dress now, was complete.
Tay didn’t live with rich people. But she did own one special piece of jewellery- a necklace of cream coloured stones and amber beads. She dropped this over her slim neck and smiled. She had actually found the item beside the lake at Hogwarts. After asking the Charms teacher if she could keep it and her question being accepted, she hadn’t actually worn the possession at all. Kara, Parker and Lily hadn’t seen the necklace yet. Would they notice it? She smiled at it again before slipping her feet into some cute silvery pumps.
Taylor wasn’t really the person with the most make-up you could find on a random street. But for this party she wore some pale silver-white eye shadow and similar liner, giving her blue eyes a twinkle look. She brushed some black mascara on her already curly lashes and set a soft layer of pale gloss on her lips, and was done. It wasn’t much but seemed to emphasize all of Tay’s facial points- her wide eyes, shaped cheeks. The make-up had done it’s job. But what about hair? Taylor usually wore her dark brown hair up in a tight ponytail, but today she decided against that. She left it down and curled it carefully, soft fat ringlets erupting around her face as she cast the simple curling spell. Once done, she added one silver butterfly clip to the side of her head.
The finished image was a sparkling white and silver echo. Taylor grinned at herself before glancing around. She hadn’t been that long in getting ready. Kara had already gone, wearing something which Tay hadn’t seen before. Taylor didn’t really get a good look at it but only saw a flash of black. Parker had gone earlier- wearing what Taylor didn’t know. Would Taylor look as beautiful as them? They always seemed to manage it whether it be morning or night, party or hospital-illness. They almost always looked good. Tay wasn’t so sure about herself. Maybe, she pondered as she stepped from the dorm, that was just her opinion. But she doubted it.
She arrived not too long later in the Great Hall. Kara’s joyful voice echoed over her as she stepped into the huge Hall. She grinned as she saw Kara and Parker. Her smile almost faded as she saw what Kara was wearing. A slinky black, off-the-shoulder dress which was subtly revealing. But Taylor just grinned anyway. Ok, her friend looked better than her. Who cared? She looked at Parker, and smiled inside. Parker looked beautiful- wearing a cute short blue dress with spaghetti straps, she looked cute and perfect for her party. “Parker, Kara!” Taylor echoed into the hall. “Ooh Happy seventeenth Parker! Of course I’m already seventeen so I can assure you it’s simply amazing. You two look gorgeous as usual. Kara where did that dress come from? It’s… different!” Taylor laughed. Who cares if she wasn’t a stand-out girl? She knew her friends wouldn’t care. She glanced at the two of them again. They looked great, happy and excited. She would have to keep this image in her head and draw it later, she thought with a smile.

She grinned at Kara, who happened to be wearing the dress Parker had gotten for her. Kara never wore dresses. Ever. So Parker, it being her birthday and Kara not daring to kill her now, took all of Kara's jeans. Poor dear only had that dress to wear. She loved Kara like her sister, so she wouldn't laugh. She could...but she wouldn't. Kara was insecure enough in the dress, so she didn't want to add to that. She couldn't wait to see Remus when he saw her. Kara didn't know that Parker knew about the two of them. Remus told her a week prior, and she honestly hadn't seen much of darling best friend, not even enough to tell her about her situation with another best friend of hers.
"Gee thanks Kare...Love you too. And yes, I can be responsible when I want to. Just like you can dress up when you...well when you are forced to at least love." She spoke with an obnoxious grin on her face. She happy. It was her birthday. Her party, she could be as happy as could be at this point. Nothing else mattered except the fact that her friends with benefits idea didn't work. She was taking a chance, maybe she would finally let herself fall in love?
She hugged Kara and turned to hear Taylor's voice. Taylor, who always looked gorgeous, was another of the six or seven people she trusted with her life. She was softspoken but outgoing, and one of the single sweetest person anyone could ever meet. So Parker laughed hard when she heard the words come from Taylors mouth. 'Its...different'. "Nice Tay...subtle. And thanks, but I think you both are totally outshining me tonight. I think I've had this dress forever. You two look amazing. And I'm sure Lily like usual will look amazing....James'll go ga ga. Speaking of boys..." She grinned looking at Kara. "When were you going to tell me you and one of our best guy friends were going out. I think this would be something you'd rush up to tell me." She smirked, being a total hypocrite. Tonight was the first night any of their friends would know about her and her sort of boyfriend. They were still trying things out, hopefully things would work out. She couldn't believe she was already seventeen.

"Taylor! Hey! You made it- OH MY LORD, You look great! And this ol' thing? Parker, our lovely little boy-chaser, gave me this awhile ago...Never though I'd actually wear it..." She made a face, and gave a shrug that sent the cloth of her dress rippling. It just felt so unnatural, wearing a bloody dress. But it wasn't like she had a choice, and Parker's next words just clicked in her mind. She felt her jaw drop ever so slightly as something hit her. There were some things you just knew, some things you didn't and others that were so obvious, they hit you dead in the face with no mercy. "You stole my jeans, didn't you Parker?! You brat!" Normally Kara might be a little annoyed, but instead, she found herself laughing helplessly. "I should've known!" She shook her head, causing her earrings to chime gently.
This was why she loved her friends. Despite the pranks she would pull on them, or the matchmaking Parker might do, they still were the best of friends. She had to admit, the year started out like crap. Ominous feelings clouding her thoughts, nightmares, but though it was still there, she felt like she could smile again. All thanks to her dear wonderful friends, and boyfriend. And of course, Parker chose that exact moment to lay down the bombshell.
Kara felt herself flush, and gave a sheepish grin. Figures Parker would be so blunt. And in front of Taylor, whom most likely didn't know yet. "Well....um...I was going to say something soon-" Probably never, she had been procrastinating in that field "-but it seems you took all the fun out of that, Parkinglot." There. Suitable revenge. The nickname that Sirius had given her in...What was it, their fourth year? No matter, Parker hated that nickname, and that's what counted, right? "And I'll have you know, I was waiting for the perfect moment to 'rush to you' about it." She tossed her hair and tried to look haughty. Which lasted for about five seconds before she laughed, her face heating up. Of course her dear friend Parker would manage to make her flush on her seventeenth. Not like she was embarassed about Remus. Hell to be told, she was happier then she had ever been. But still, feeling her cheeks heat up was never pleasent.
One thought ran through Kara's brain now. Find-a-distraction. And found one. "Different, Tay? Hmm? Don't you like the sleazy piece Parker shoves me in?" she asked innocently. "It makes me feel so wonderful to know that Parker loves me enough to try to make me pop boy's eyeballs out. Not as much as Lily, but still..? I just love how friends try their best for each other!" She sent a smirk in Parker's direction. "Speaking of boys..." she said, echoing Parker. "Anyone seen those scoundrels yet?"

Sirius strolled down towards the Great Hall, where Kara and Remus had told him that Parker's birthday party would be held. He wouldn't miss it for the world. He was dressed in a tuxedo, a black tie around his white shirt and nice dress shoes under nice dress pants. He smiled at that thought and continued to walk, his thin lips formed into a smirk now as he thought of Parker. Boy was he glad that they had decided not to be friends with benefits. If they had, their friendship would be ruined and he truely did not want to risk that. Parker was one of his best friends and he did not want to lose her because of something stupid. He walked into the Great Hall through the giant oak doors and saw the decorations. He ran a hand through his hair, his bangs falling back into his eyes casually, and walked over to the group of girls. His eyes seemed to bulge slightly as he saw Parker. She looked....beautiful to say the least.
"Why hello ladies." He said, flashing everyone a smile, his dark eyes seeming to illuminate under the dim torches on the walls of the huge room. Well, not exactly a room, but whatever. Not like it mattered. All that mattered was Parker's party and that she was happy. "Happy Birthday, m'lady." He said smirking at Parker, then bowing and kissing her hand lightly. "Hope all your dreams come true." He said, seeming to leave Parker in a daze as he walked over to the drinks table and grabbed a glass, pouring punch into it and taking a sip from it, occasionally glancing over at Parker.

The girls looked amazing. And Parker sheepishly grinned at Kara realized that Parker had stolen her pants. Well, it was a formal...so why would she wear pants in the first place. She guessed that she didn't have to take Kara's only skirt as well. I mean, Kara was her best friend...which actually made it soo much more fun. She loved Kara to death but...she was just so fun to prank. She remembered their fifth year prank war. There had been two prank wars that year. The first between Parker and Kara, and then second between all the girls vs the Marauders. That was a great year. She wondered what pranks the boys were going to come up with for the rest of the year.
"Sorry Kare, I just wanted you to look prettyful." She said, putting her best 'Its-my-birthday-party-please-don't-be-mad' pout face. "And yes, you should have known. And you should have told me sooner! Unless you were keeping it a secret because you wanted to surprise people, and if that was the case, you should've told your boyfriend..." She said still smiling at her innocently.
"Sleazy?! I have that dress in black and blue Kara! And yes, I do try and do the best for you...Cause I do love you." She grinned, still doing the innocent act, she knew Kara wouldn't fall for it however. Before she could answer Kara's question Sirius came and acted very...un-Sirius. Totally out of character for him, but at the same time it was sweet. She grinned and looked at him, and she yelled across the still empty hall at him getting his drink. "Very Chivalrous boyfriend! You do you always compliment a girl and walk away before she can thank you?!" She said grinning, a slight blush to her cheeks now. She was about to hear it from Kara...she knew it, so she decided not to turn towards Kara just yet and waited to see Sirius' reaction.

"Awww, come on. You know you love it when I do that." Sirius said grinning, placing his glass on the table and walking-- no wait, strolled-- back over to Parker. He smiled and just stared at her, not really sure what to do. He saw the expression in her face, the merriment shining in her eyes and a bark like laugh escaped his lips for what seemed like no apparent reason. He had been doing that alot lately, laughing for no reason, I mean. Not exactly sure why, but he had. He rolled his eyes in amusement.
"So, what exactly are we going to do at this so-called spectacular and aboslutely fun party?" He asked smartly, looking around. He wondered where Lily and James were, along with Remus and Peter. He knew they were coming, at least they hadn't said anything about not coming. He looked back at Kara to see a smirk forming on her face.
Oh, great! I knew this was going to happen.....
He knew it. He knew that once Kara and Taylor found out about him and Parker, all hell would break loose. Basically, they would keep asking him and Parker questions like 'When did you get together' and 'Why did you get together.' Not like he cared though. It wasn't really important. He smirked back at Kara, just waiting for her reponse to all of this....meaning, him and Parker. Whenever something happened, Kara always had a snide remark and he just couldn't wait to hear what she had to say. He crossed his arms over his chest, raising an eyebrow slightly.

"I live to surprise people, Parky. That's why the fourth years are hiding in Myrtle's bathroom." She tossed her head arrogantly, a grin on her face. And so she did. And so they were. She left a few surprises in the fourth year dormitory this morning, and she heard them running in the general direction of the haunted bathroom. Or somewhere near it. Her thoughts drifted for a moment, and she was snapped back to by Sirius's uncharacteristic entrance. Kara was only gaping for a few seconds then she raised an eyebrow. "My, it seems an ol' dog can learn new tricks!" She glanced at Taylor, still quite surprised by this.
Parker's next comment took it out of her even more. "Why you hippocrite!" she stared. "You complain about me not telling you about Remus, and then you go behind my back and not tell me about him?!" Like so many other times, she found herself helplessly laughing. "You're terrible, Park, terrible! A hippocrite!" And then, the man of the moment came strutting back. The image of a peacokck strutting down the lane came into Kara's mind, and the smirk lifted onto her lips.
"Well, Sir Black of the Arrogance Green, I see thou has captured thyself a spirited filly." She crossed her arms over her chest, smirking openly. "I do wonder if either of you can handle each other... Tell me, was this all a planned little secret? Or are the boys in on it too? Hmm?" Suddenly, several snide remarks popped into her mind. All of which she loved. But she had one favorite that she wanted to use...
"Have to say Park, I'm not sure if you got the best of the lot. I know I got something good, but I'm not sure about this scoundrel...." She laughed and shook her head with mock sorrow. "A pity...." She shot a grin at Parker. "And before you have an apoplexy, I'm just poking fun at you Park. But still, you have the nerve to complain that I didn't rush to you about Rem, and you don't rush to me about Sirius?" She grinned at her friend, enjoyin the little chance to have some poking fun at the birthday girl and her rowdy, new-old boyfriend.

What was it that made parties so difficult, even if they were for friends? Why did a lot of guys feel like they had to go the distance to impress that one girl? Why in Merlin’s name was Remus so nervous? And why was he.. Could it be? Sober?? It was amazing, to say the least, that he had not touched a flask or bottle in about a week, maybe more. Normally, he was up to drinking before or at parties, just to fit in and be liked, loved by everyone. He didn’t want to mess this night up for Parker. It was her day, her birthday party and he was going to keep his big yap shut about Sirius. He had always had his doubts about the two of them, mainly because Sirius was too fast, wild and temper prone to know which head was which. Remus smirked a little, his tired complexion trying to find the perkiness that came to him when there was a party. It was actually a comical sight, scrunching up his face and speaking to his reflection (who immediately spoke back) about his looks. The boy in the mirror, truth be told, doubled over in laughter every time Remus tried to get his hair perfect. Nothing was really working, so he figured to go simple, have his hair hanging straight and slack, knowing it was the best look that suited him anyway. He really didn’t have any particular girl to impress per say, even though he felt he couldn’t impress Kara enough, so why get all fancied up? Well, perfect is as prefect does and he had to put on a good impression. He was seventeen, adequate in age to be his own man and dress himself the way he wanted. Sirius had always told him not to under do it, always over, but then one of his other friends came along, telling him he should dress to impress. Had everyone gone mad? It was just a birthday party.. Not like he was going to spend time with a dying relative.. Okay bad analogy..
The boy’s dormitory had never seen so many clothes scattered this way and that way, the boy who was now panicking scrambling like a mad man to try to find something that would suit him for the evening. It was getting late and he came to the conclusion Parker probably had the party in full swing, opening with a song, even though no one had shown up yet. Always was like Parker Williams to go over the top with everything she did. damn. Now he had to find something that was good enough! But what? What would be the perfect thing to wear for a night like this? A night he was sure to remember until his dying day? Think Remus, think. You’re a bright boy. You can come up with something. Juts a party after all. He thought to himself as he sat on the edge of his four poster bed. His wand was in his hand, tapping slightly at his chin, a nasty habit since one time his hair was died bright orange for a week. Needless to say it had got a laugh out of everyone, mainly Kara who wouldn’t stop touching it. He smiled at the memory, his eyes closing slightly. Could it be love? It was possible. The two of them had known each other for years now and it was indeed promising. He wondered sometimes how his parents fell in love since his mother was a muggle and his father was a wizard. He knew his mother had never attended Hogwarts, having little to no magical blood in her, but then how did the two of them get together? This was a question he had asked himself for years, but yet he was unable to find the answer. He liked Kara a lot and truly contemplated if she could maybe be the one for him.. But he was a werewolf.. A half breed, unfit to walk this earth with the rest of the most noble of blood.
His hands gripped the sheets at his sides, his mind and heart racing closely to the same pulse. He hung his head a little, eye lids slightly quivering as they normally had when he was in need of just a taste of liquor. It was like him to want it, almost to the point of him falling off the edge. He had been at that point for at least a year now, all thanks to his father. Drunkenness was an inherited condition, or so he had read, that wasn’t easily cured. He sighed slightly, falling back onto the bed, warmth and comfort making him quite content. The party was going on without him, Kara was probably there by now and Parker was having a great time, singing on stage for all to hear. He liked the scene as it played itself before his very eyes, different people smiling and waving to him as he came through the Great Hall doors. His prefect badge would be adorned on his chest for all to see, basically to keep everyone under control. When his eyes opened finally, they stared into a dark ceiling of the dormitory, a last image of him twirling Kara around splendidly flashing in front of him. She seemed so happy in his thoughts and he was going to go with no meaning of messing things up, but he knew he could make no promises. This was Parker’s night to shine. It was an eve for innocent partying, good intentions coming from everyone. He would go tonight, make himself seem a lot more mature than a boy his age should appear to be.
He got up quickly, grabbing his wand and performing a formal dressing style spell. It was pretty complicated, but he could handle it well enough. He smiled, liking what he saw in the mirror’s reflection: There in the reflective surface stood a young man in a pitch black tuxedo with white under shirt, laced dress shoes, and a simple bow tie. He looked like he was dressed for a wedding, not a party, but he indeed looked pretty spiffy. He gelled his hair a bit with his wand, making it so it would stay, yet give it a free and a touch of an American mobster appearance to it as well. He liked how the spell turned out. He finished the get-up with a black felt, almost gangster style fedora. [(that’s for all who wanted to see Remus as a mobster! He he lol)] It made him seem older than his actual age. The mirror was no longer laughing, but giving him a thumbs up and mouthing what he could tell was ‘go get her Remus’. He rolled his eyes at his reflection and headed out the door, finding the common room free of students. It wasn’t really surprising, seeing as how most of them were probably at the party. Parker was a popular girl and made friends with just about everyone when it came to Gryffindors. The only one who seemed to be staying here was the resident ghost Nearly Headless Nick who seemed to be having a heated debate with one of the portraits. Most likely about being denied for the hunt again. He considered quietly, a grin coming across his lips as he headed out of the common room.
He didn’t feel like himself, especially since passing students were staring at him, questioning looks on their faces. Good thing the badge was there, otherwise he probably would have been figured for a spy.. Or something to that effect. He adverted his eyes from them, continuing down the stairwell. For once he was eager to get some where other than Defense Against the Dark Arts class. Not only would Kara be there, but all his friends would be. He felt a flare of apprehension arise in the pits of his stomach and figured it might be because Parker and Sirius were dating. He hoped she and Remus would continue to be friends, hardly anything really changing between the two of them. His thoughts about her were cut short when he heard the booming music coming from the Great Hall. Knowing he was wanting to get inside, he picked up his pace a bit, in utter awe as he looked around. There were decorations every where, even at the entrance. The stage, too, was flamboyant in color. Parker always did have a thing for going all out.
Speaking of said birthday girl, he soon spotted her talking with Taylor, Sirius and Kara. He pulled off his outer jacket, revealing a nice long sleeved shirt with maroon buttons, a trademark thing for a student who loved his house with everything in him. He tossed it on a table, placing an anti-theft charm on it so it wouldn’t be swiped away. It was his favorite tux jacket and he wasn’t about to let anyone walk off with it.. He kept the hat, though, knowing it just further added to the appearance that took him awhile to complete. He smiled gently as he came to the small gathering of people he had known since first year. The three of them virtually grew up together. Their bonds were strong and he felt he’d give his life for everyone of them. “Hope I didn’t miss very much on the event of the century,” he said, smirking broadly. He then noticed Kara’s elegant dress and his eyes widened a little. “You look..” Amazing was the word he was looking for, but it didn’t really come out. “..breath taking Kara.” He told her truthfully. For fear of being smacked upside the head, he quickly turned to Parker, “Not that you don’t look great as well Parker, and Taylor! Been awhile since I’ve seen you. Great look for yah.” he said, complimenting her as best he could. All three girls looked wonderfully spectacular, but Kara did look absolutely to die for and that wasn’t because he was going out with her either. He placed his arm on her waist, smiling softly at her. “I hope you’ll grant me the honor of the first dance of the evening Kara.”

[I'm not making you revise your novel Remmy, but nobody is supposed to know about the two of them dating. {parker and siri} but anyways, we'll just blame it on Sirius. lol]
She laughed at Kara's reaction as she slipped herself into Sirius' arms, making it so that one of his arms was around her waist. She hardly understood anything Kara was saying, but she was fluent in Kara's sarcasm, so could pretty much get the jist of what she was talking about. "First of all dearest Kara Beara...this was the surprise part of my attempted surprise party..." She started, mischievious glimmer in her eyes that could be constantly found there at times like this. But she continued, "And its okay Kare...I'm not so sure about this dirty scoundral yet either..." She said looking up at him, grinning. She looked back to Kara, "And besides, its so much fun being a hypocrite." She grinned at her best friend. This party was going to be great, her best friends, her best friend-slash-boyfriend. It was already fun, and it could only get better. She was just waiting for Remus, Peter, Lily, and James.
Speaking of people getting there, Remus arrived next to the group. She loved his reaction to Kara's outfit was just what she was looking for. Parker was so good at this type of thing. She was going to play matchmaker this year, for who, she wasn't too sure yet, but she was going to play matchmaker no matter what. She was going to be the cause of something great. Parker was the type of person who liked to help people whether they need it or not. She often let her opinion out when it wasn't needed or wanted, it was just the way she interfeired [sp?]with things. She liked having control and being the source of as many good deeds as she could. Remus was one of her best friends, so she grinned at him as she left her boyfriends arm and hugged him.
"You're sweet, but you totally don't have to compliment anyone but your girlfriend." She let go and turned to Kara. "See I told you taking all your informal clothes and forcing you to wear that hottie dress would pay off." She grinned smugly at Kara, knowing her work here was done as she went back to Sirius and saw Remus whisper in Kara's ear. They were just so...cute. The fit together, and Parker was glad that her and Remus were friends, no matter what. She hoped that she could be like this with all her friends forever, even after they left Hogwarts. No matter what happened she sort of knew that they were going to be friends forever, however long that was at least. She felt right in Sirius' firm grip. She was happy here, with her friends, a seventeenth birthday party to remember, thats what this was.

[Oh God… My first Peter post. Yay! Or not.]
Parties. Shiver. The bane of Peter’s existence. Of all the sacrifices he’d had to make to stay on the ‘inside’ the endless carousel of social events which James and Sirius (ever the oh-so-popular demigods) whirled them into was definitely the hardest to deal with. Already he could feel a knot in his stomach, threatening to cause major embarrassment (not that he usually needed any help in that respect) even before Sirius had forced anything vaguely intoxicating between his protesting lips. The face staring back from the mirror already seemed to be glaring back at him, thinking up some awful punishment for later as ‘thanks’ for putting it through all this madness, pale and sickly looking behind the drops he’d splashed on in an effort to cool down both mentally and physically.
Sigh. He couldn’t skip out on this one. It was Parker’s birthday, after all, and not one of the run-of-the-mill flesh markets they so regularly indulged in these days. Besides, Parker’ friends would be there. They were… cool (no one could make cool sound as half-arsed as Peter’s internal monologue, but there we go). It could be fun… maybe. The pale blue eyes staring back didn’t seem too sure, but then again when did they ever seem sure about anything?
Sigh again. He never knew how to handle these things… Sirius telling him to under-dress, everyone else saying go formal… In the end, he just settled for a charcoal shirt and black trousers and suit blazer, hardly the most stunning combination but then again he had never had extensive funds, excellent fashion sense or even particularly great raw material so half-way decent was something of an achievement. Not like anyone would be looking at him anyway. He knew his place. “Hey… do you think this’ll be..” He glanced around to find… an empty dorm. Fantastic. So not only was he going to be the least attractive, but also the least punctual Marauder.
One supposedly short, but deceptive, sprint later, and the sickly blanched quality was replaced with an equally embarrassing flushed one. Excellent. Could this evening really get any worse? Peter leant back against the wall next to the doors to the Great Hall, not yet ready to face the ‘joyous occasion’, however pathetic that made him. From the voices – disembodied and robbed of anything other than a blurry but identifiable sound – he guessed that not everyone was there yet, which meant he could wait and slip in with someone else, hoping – well, let’s be honest, fairly certain, that they would take the attention and he’d just be a face in the crowd. If no one came within however long it took for the prospect of lurking to become more squirm-inducing than that of facing the ‘girls’, then he’d just have to take his chances.

Kara rolled her eyes good-naturedly, knowing Parker would never understand half of what she said. So much for my attempt at Shakespeare and Sarcasm. she thought to herself. "You of all people would love being a hippocrite, since you are one about twenty-four-seven!" She laughed again, immensely enjoying herself. Footsteps interrupted her before she could continue her tyrade that would result in a pillow fight later. Kara turned and felt her breathe catch in her throat.
damn, Remus looked...looked...wonderful! She watched him approach, feeling abit of color rise in her cheeks. If they hadn't been going out, Kara knew that she would have either moved to the far end of the group or have made some excuse to just leave. He looked just damn fine! She smiled at him on his approach and was conscious of the low neckline and the suddenly-scandalous slit in her dress. Oh that Parker! She had every moment of this planned, didn't she?! she thought heatedly, but her heart wasn't into it. Her heart was into the gangster-looking Prefect heading her way.
She felt herself blush yet again when she got his reaction to her dress. She shot a glance at Parker that should've been murderous, but instead was something along the lines of I hate to admit it, but thanks! She wrapped her own arm around him and snuggled into his side, smiling. "I'd let you have every dance if I could!" Kara grinned impishly up at him. Yeah, he was a mite bit taller then her. And she was no shortcake herself! But hey, she loved it, feeling his arms around her lovingly yet protectively.
So far, the party was going grande.
